Orman içindeki kulübe yıllar içinde katmanlı biçimde gelişiyor

Puget Sound kıyısındaki kulübe, 1959'da inşa edilen 200 metrekarelik küçük bir yapının yıllar içindeki eklemelerle hafta sonu kullanımına uygun bir eve dönüşüm sürecini ortaya koyuyor. Yapı, 1981, 1997, 2003 ve 2014'te yapılan müdahalelerde mevcut strüktürü koruyarak katmanlı olarak gelişiyor. 1980'lerde üç küçük pavyon ve bunları bağlayan ahşap platformlardan oluşan düzen, 2003'te tek bir çatı altında birleşerek topografyaya oturan bütüncül bir kütle hâline geliyor. Geniş cam yüzey, çayır alanı ve Puget Sound manzarasını iç mekâna taşıyarak dışarıyla görsel bir süreklilik kuruyor. 2014'te eklenen ebeveyn ve misafir odalarıyla yapı 2.400 metrekareye ulaşıyor. Güverte ve çatıdaki açıklıklar sayesinde üç olgun köknar ağacı yapının içinde büyümeye devam ediyor.

The cabin on the Puget Sound coast illustrates the transformation of a small 200-square-meter structure, built in 1959, into a weekend home through additions made over the years. The structure has evolved in layers through interventions in 1981, 1997, 2003, and 2014, preserving the existing structure. The 1980s layout, consisting of three small pavilions and connecting wooden platforms, merged under a single roof in 2003, forming a cohesive mass that sits within the topography. Large glass surfaces bring the meadow and Puget Sound views into the interior, creating a visual continuity with the outdoors. With the addition of parent and guest rooms in 2014, the structure reached 2,400 square meters. Thanks to openings on the deck and roof, three mature fir trees continue to grow within the structure.
