Frank Gehry, Silikon Vadisi'nin Atherton bölgesinde, cam, ahşap, metal ve tuğla gibi farklı malzemeleri kullanarak heykelsi bir konut tasarlıyor. Proje, Fondation Louis Vuitton'daki strüktürel ahşap makasların konut ölçeğinde yeniden yorumlandığı, dramatik kütlelerin ve alışılmadık geometrilerin bir araya geldiği bir yapı olarak dikkat çekiyor. İç mekânda The Wiseman Group'un tasarladığı mobilyalar, Gehry'nin mekânsal etkisini taklit etmeden ama onun kurduğu atmosferle ilişki kurarak yerleşiyor. On yıllık inşa sürecinin ardından yapı, Gehry'nin teknik olarak zorlu mimari yaklaşımını konut ölçeğinde ortaya koyan bir örnek olarak öne çıkıyor.

Frank Gehry is designing a sculptural residence in the Atherton area of Silicon Valley, using different materials such as glass, wood, metal, and brick. The project stands out as a structure that reinterprets the structural wooden trusses at the Fondation Louis Vuitton on a residential scale, bringing together dramatic masses and unusual geometries. In the dining room, heavy wooden columns, curved beams, and glass surfaces create a pavilion-tent hybrid, while the entertainment area on the lower level integrates with the courtyard and pool. The structure bears traces of Gehry's design language from different periods with its wide eaves, brick towers, and metal roof elements.
Inside, furniture designed by The Wiseman Group is placed in a way that relates to the atmosphere Gehry created without imitating his spatial effect. After a decade of construction, the building stands out as an example of Gehry's technically challenging architectural approach at a residential scale.
