Cephesiyle öne çıkan Toyo Ito imzalı yapı: T House in Yutenji

Mimar Toyo Ito tarafından 1999'da tasarlanan T House, Tokyo'nun Yutenji bölgesinde yer alıyor. Betonarme strüktürle inşa edilen iki katlı yapı, toplamda 148,27 m² kapalı alana sahip. Kuzeye bakan ana cephe, yol kotundan erişilen merkezî bir girişle tanımlanıyor; bu yüzeyde kullanılan opal cam pencere, iç mekânı dış çevreden ayırırken gün ışığını kontrollü bir biçimde içeri alıyor.


Zemin katta iki yatak odası, banyo ve garaj yer alırken, üst katta oturma-yemek alanı ile grafik tasarım stüdyosu sürgülü cam panellerle bölünebilen tek bir hacim içinde düzenleniyor. Çift yükseklikte çözümlenen giriş holü, hem mekânsal organizasyonu tanımlıyor hem de gün ışığının yapı boyunca dolaşımını sağlıyor. Geleneksel Japon mimarisinden esinlenen geçirgen bölücüler ve yalın malzeme kullanımı, yapıya sade ama nitelikli bir iç mekân atmosferi kazandırıyor.

A building designed by Toyo Ito that stands out with its facade: T House in Yutenji


Designed by architect Toyo Ito in 1999, T House is located in the Yutenji district of Tokyo. The two-storey building, constructed with a reinforced concrete structure, has a total enclosed area of 148.27 m². The main façade facing north is defined by a central entrance accessible from street level; the opal glass windows on this surface separate the interior from the exterior while allowing natural light to enter in a controlled manner.


The ground floor houses two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a garage, while the upper floor features a living-dining area and a graphic design studio, both arranged within a single volume that can be divided by sliding glass panels. The double-height entrance hall defines the spatial organisation while also facilitating the circulation of natural light throughout the building. Transparent partitions inspired by traditional Japanese architecture and the use of minimalist materials give the structure a simple yet refined interior atmosphere.
