Ahşap oyma sanatçısı ve heykeltıraş Leo Jones, 2015 yılından bu yana Çin'de yaşamını sürdürerek çalışmalarını sürdürüyor. “Sea in Palm' başlığı altında ürettiği eserlerinde, okyanusun biçimsel ve duyusal özelliklerini ahşap malzeme üzerinden yorumluyor. Her heykelini tamamen el işçiliğiyle üreten sanatçı, ahşabın doğal damar yapısını koruyarak dalga, su damlası ve yüzey hareketlerini temsil eden detaylı formlar oluşturuyor. Farklı ışık koşulları ve iklim etkilerini de eserlerine yansıtarak, doğanın geçici ve değişken doğasını vurguluyor. Her parça, malzemenin fiziksel özelliklerine sadık kalınarak şekillendiriliyor ve denizle ilgili imgeler aracılığıyla yorumlanıyor.

Wood carving artist and sculptor Leo Jones has been living and working in China since 2015. In his works under the title “Sea in Palm', he interprets the formal and sensory properties of the ocean through wood. Producing each sculpture entirely by hand, the artist preserves the natural grain structure of the wood and creates detailed forms representing waves, water drops and surface movements. By reflecting different light conditions and climatic effects on his works, he emphasizes the temporary and variable nature of nature. Each piece is shaped by remaining faithful to the physical properties of the material and interpreted through marine imagery.
