Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus, is known as one of the pioneers of the modernist approach in architecture, which focused on functionality, simple aesthetics and industrial production.
We respectfully commemorate Gropius, who passed away on 5 July 1969, on the anniversary of his death.
"Our guiding principle was that design is neither an intellectual nor a material affair, but simply an integral part of the stuff of life, necessary for everyone in a civilized society."
